Vivian Jenivieve  Gonzales
Monte Vista resident Vivian J. Gonzales, 48, passed away on March 16, 2018 at her home in Monte Vista. Vivian was born on February 3, 1970 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Allen and Annie Gonzales.

Vivian’s biggest pride in life was her children, she was a devoted beloved mother and grandmother, who loved watching the Denver Broncos and was a huge fan. She enjoyed being outdoors and taking her family fishing. She enjoyed cooking Mexican food and you would always find her in her house dancing around to Spanish music. She especially loved spending time with her two grandsons Mykah and Ryder. She was always a kind-hearted person and would do anything to help anyone out when they were in need. Her sense of humor and laughter will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughters Vanessa Tapia of Alamosa, and Tyra Tapia of Monte Vista, grandchildren Mykah Manzanares and Ryder Tapia, her sisters Patsy (Lalo) Garcia of Monte Vista, Irene Gonzales of Monte Vista, Oma (Valentin) Hernandez of Monte Vista, Barbara Gonzales of Monte Vista, Brenda Gonzales of Alamosa, and her brother Johnny (Pricilla) Gonzales of Denver, her sister-in-law Lillian Gonzales, brother-in-law Juan (Maria) Tapia, her God Children whom she adored Camela Gonzales and Natalia Gallegos, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Vivian was welcomed home by her parents Allen and Annie Gonzales, her unborn son Jessie Ray, sisters Viola "Johnnie" Shaffer, and Sally Gardea, brothers Fred Gonzales and Felix Maez, her favorite Tia Ruby Lee Sisneros, Uncle Pat Sisneros, niece Rachel Gonzales, and father-in-law David Tapia.

Cremation was selected, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 22, 2018 also at the church. Inurnment will be held at Workers Union Cemetery following the Mass.
