Obituary for Linda Fox Brown

Linda Fox  Brown
Linda Fox Brown, 73, of Alamosa, died quietly from complications of dementia on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Columbine Chateau in Pueblo West.

Linda was a local silversmith and artist known from her shop in the Vintage Garage on Main Street. She was the only child of George Fox and Mildred Mahler of Boston, Mass. She graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and married Jonathan Levant, Md. They lived in Boston, New York, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and Seattle. Two daughters, Lauren and Kendra were born and a son Adam was adopted. She and her family lived in Tacoma, WA for 25 years where she became the state’s first working woman contractor building spec and government housing. She also became a Silversmith for a hobby, making jewelry from her own designs. After divorcing Jon, she subsequently married William “Bill” Brown, native of Alamosa. They moved from Seattle to Alamosa in 1991.

She is survived by her three children Lauren, Kendra and Adam, Stepson James Brown of Spokane, WA, stepdaughter Jennifer (Gary) Graves of Alamosa, CO and husband Bill of Alamosa.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Kindred Spirit Care Center for Dementia/Alzheimer victims, being opened in her honor, at 401 Santa Fe Avenue, in Alamosa (next to the Rodeway Inn in East Alamosa). Please come and celebrate her life with us.
