Mom I miss you so bad. This is the worse pain that I have ever felt and it is never going to go away, until the day I get to see you again. Miss you so much.

Brianna and I loved Mariann so much. She was always there to listen and to give advice. We will miss her so much. Sleep well my friend. You are in the Kingdom of God. You will be missed by many as you were loved by all. I had the pleasure to witness many of your successes. You were truly an Angel of God & an absolute Blessing to all. Me & my entire familia will miss you deeply. I will forever remember your words of wisdom and guidance. When I lost my beloved Val, you consoled me with some powerful words that I have lived by everyday since you spoke them to me. You told me: "Grace, Valentino will be missed emensley. We have known the Dunne family for a long time through their service in church ministry. Marianne had a heart of gold and was always giving of herself and her time to help others grow on their journey.

It was with sad hearts that we heard of her passing. Our prayers are with her family and friends.

She will be greatly missed. She was and will remain a huge part of my life. I have known Mariann since I was part of the youth group at Sacred Heart Church. Mariann was a mentor to me not only through the church but throughout my life. She taught me many things and was a huge inspiration to me and my family. I will miss her beautiful smile, contagious laugh & big hugs. I will continue to honor her memory by continuing to serve others. I remember meeting Mariann in Omaha when I first entered the Sisters of Mercy and Mariann was discerning her call to marriage and missionary service. She shared her story with a heart full of love and a passion for people who are poor, oppressed and otherwise marginalized. She touched me deeply at that time and when she and Noel and Wanda returned from South America to Denver, we had the oppportunity to work together and spend time at the Bethlehem Center in Broomfield. Later, as she and Noel engaged in so many wonderful programs and projects in Alamosa, she invited me to come and share in workshops and ministry. I remember as I was getting ready to head back to Denver at the end of a weekend, Noel was the radio host on the Public Radio station for the "Irish music" program! Together, Mariann and Noel always made working for justice a task of joy, and never a burden! We will miss you, Mariann. Mariann and Noel are Associate members of the Sisters of Mercy congregation because we needed Mariann to stay connected so we could learn how to be more merciful. Peg Maloney, RSM

When I think of Marianne, I think of a Champion for the "Little Guy" - whatever that means - because she was so generous in her heart to care for social justice for everyone, but ESPECIALLY those who didn't feel that they had a voice. She became one of the best Alamosa County Commissioners of all time; because she genuinely cared and was at the table, advocating for change, and collaborating with agencies. Her time on earth was too short; she was an inspiration to me and many others. We will miss her generous heart.
